Apprenticeships provide employers and apprentices with funded work-based training in a range of over 170 exciting career roles. Working with City & Guilds helps both training centres and employers grow business, and gives an apprentice the head start they need for a great career.
What are the qualifications about?
Show that you have the skills to maintain and repair vehicles - from mechanical and electrical work, re-sprays, bodywork and tyre fitting, to getting stranded motorists back on the road again. These practical qualifications demonstrate your skills on the job, in your own workplace, showing that you meet national standards for automotive workers. They can take you from your first workshop repair job to a role where you supervise a team of people.
Who are they for?
These automotive NVQs are for anyone developing a career in the motor industry. You need a current job or work placement where you do repair work, body work, tyre fitting or roadside recovery. If you don't have a suitable job or work placement, you could do the Certificate or Diploma version of the 4101 qualification
What jobs could they lead to?
After taking these automotive NVQs you'll have a qualification that show employers and customers you have the skills for your role - for example to fit tyres or work on cars, motorcycles, light vans and commercial vehicles.
You could use your skills in a variety of industries, from a specialist repair or bodywork workshop, to vehicle fitting specialists, to specialising in the roadside assistance and recovery sector.
